  • A: We visit your medical center or discuss your needs upon receiving your enquiry. For existing centers, we assess your organization’s size and services before providing a preliminary work schedule.

  • A: The project begins with a briefing and evaluation, followed by analysis and recommendations. Next, we set up policies and procedures, with physical improvements if needed. The final phase is application submission and site inspection preparation.

Licensing Timelines

Timeline for Obtaining a License

  • Q: How long does it take to obtain a license?

  • A: For new centers, applications must be submitted 2 months before operation. If the required documents are complete, the Department of Health schedules an inspection within 10 days. Follow-up actions may be required after inspection, and results are issued within 15 working days.

Post-License Support and Renewal

  • Q: After obtaining the license, will IHI continue to provide support?

  • A: IHI can support license renewal applications and license variation applications. For Day Procedure Centers license, it is valid for 3 years, while clinic licenses are valid for 5 years. We assist in maintaining medical centers with up-to-date regulations and standards, and prepare them for routine inspections by the Department of Health.

Staff Involvement

  • Q: How many staff members from the medical center will need to be involved in the project?

  • A: IHI will work closely with the Chief Medical Executive (CME) and the operation manager of the medical center. Other staff need to understand and follow the policies and procedures endorsed by the CME. Some staff will need to fulfil the requirements for relevant training.
